Chinese Imperial Sericulture

David and Wendy Rosier will give a review of the origins of silk culture in China, tracing the development of the Imperial Silk Workshops and the mechanics and controls of Imperial Costume production in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

***Due to booking problems, for this lecture The Oriental Rug and Textile Society will meet at the Swedenborg Hall, 20/21 Bloomsbury Way, London WC1A 2TH Entrance in Barter Street. Doors open from 6pm. Drinks and snacks are served, and there is a T-loop induction coil for hearing-aids.

Swedenborg Hall is four minutes walk from Holborn Underground, and six minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road Underground. Free parking in Barter Street, Southampton Place or Bedford Place after 6.30pm.
