Discovering the textiles of Odisha, Lucknow and Chanderi

When you travel in India you will find a variety of special textiles.  In the last 20 years I have visited many different places.   In this talk I will be discussing some of the silks and cottons, weaves and embroideries that I have found in the state of Odisha and in the centres of Lucknow and Chanderi. I will be bringing some examples with me to illustrate my talk.

Sarah Mahaffy had a career in book publishing before launching her shop Maharani in 2006. She has sourced and sold textiles from all over India including Gujarat, Kashmir, Rajasthan, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu.

Members and their guests welcome. Please contact Dimity Spiller for information.
