Sarah Mahaffy will be speaking to the Society on Discovering the textiles of Odisha, Lucknow and Chanderi

When you travel in India you will find a variety of special textiles.  In the last 20 years I have visited many different places.   In this talk I will explain more about the silks and cottons, weaves and embroideries that I have found in the state of Odisha and in the centres of Lucknow and Chanderi. 

Sarah Mahaffy had a career in book publishing before launching her shop Maharani in 2006. She has sourced and sold textiles from all over India including Gujarat, Kashmir, Rajasthan, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu.
