21st October 2020 Navajo: A brief survey of the weavings of the Navajo. A talk by Anthony Hazledine.

Tony is a private scholar and dealer living in Oxfordshire. He is a contributing editor to Hali and appears at regular events in the London art market calendar including LARTA.

Following several field trips to New Mexico and Arizona written up in the article Storm Force in Hali magazine issue 202 and more recently from his August 2020 visit the weavings and blankets of the region will be considered from first hand contact.

The definitive book on the subject is Blanket Weaving in the Southwest by Joe Ben Wheat, edited by Ann Lane Hedlund. The book Tony brought along was Navajo Textiles The Randolph William Hearst Collection, edited by Nancy J. Blomberg.
