ORTS member Sheelagh was a costume designer for theatre, television and film for over 30 years before running her own art and literature consultancy for a further ten years. Now she avidly collects exotic costume and textiles whenever she travels and is a sometime reviewer for the ORTS journal on exhibitions and books relating to textiles. In the past twenty years she has travelled to distant horizons, collecting textiles and stories as she goes, and is an appreciator of ‘Les bibelots extraordinaires et les choses trouvées dans beaucoup de cabinets de curiosités inconnus’. Her talk will be an unveiling of some of the highlights in her very varied textile & costume collection interspersed with a brief form of global storytelling.
